MIX is a not for profit community mental health day service.
Experience of mental health conditions is becoming more common within our communities. As is the awareness that a multi-faceted approach to wellbeing can be beneficial.
For a community to be mentally well, we need to have social connections, give time to feel valued, take notice of the positive aspects of life and the environment, keep learning new skills to continually improve and be active to ensure a balance of physical and mental wellbeing.
MIX offers support to people with a range of experiences. Participants have clinical support however, for most, they do not have the non-clinical support or space to be where they are included for who they are, and to be supported to be themselves, and to reach their full potential.
MIX offers an inclusive and supportive space which aims to foster self-determination and wellbeing.

Everyone is unique. Te whare tapa wha enables us to support the individual as a whole: their mental, physical, social and spiritual selves. Through this, we can provide the right support at the right time for each individual.

One person alone can’t hold all the answers. We work together with participants, staff and the board as well as our wider community. Through this collaboration, we embrace our strengths and diversity to learn from each other.

Opportunities open doors. We support individuals to learn and grow by providing opportunities inside of MIX so that they can flourish outside of MIX.
